I need to learn how to be able to access my mozilla thunderbird email account on my new laptop. I have already downloaded thunderbird on my laptop but it keeps bringing me to "create a new account" I already have a mozilla thunderbird email account, I just don't know how to access it on this new computer. Please help? ASAP
Settings are not automatically picked up because you have already downloaded your messagesmozilla thunderbird email to your old computer.

If you still have your old computer the easiest thing to do is copy your profile from your old computer and put the contents of the old computer's default folder into the contents of the new computers default folder.

Copy your old folder and save to a flash drive by doing the following

? Select Run... from the Start menu.
? Type %appdata%
? Hit Return.
? Open the Thunderbird folder. mozilla thunderbird email
? Go to the Profiles folder.
? Open the folder of your Mozilla Thunderbird profile (this is made up of random numbers) and the folder beneath it
? Copy the folder to your new location

To copy to the new location on your new computer.
Open your Thunderbird/Profiles folder (following instructions above) DO NOT COPY THE DEFAULT CONTAINING FOLDER, BUT DO COPY THE CONTENTS into the NEW default folder
