What is the meaning behind the video "What hurts the most" by Rascal Flatts?I think the girl is pregnant and Dad ran him off and my daughter disagrees.
She has to be pregnant to explain the throwing up in the toilet and holding her belly. Which would also explain the parents being upset. Not sure if they were fighting before the accident occured. Maybe she told him about the pregancy and he was upset. Can't figure out why at the end she says "I saw you."

i think that the song means that her dad ran the boy off and that the girl could not see the boy anymore so she was hateing and blamming her dad for his acciedent! the girl was not pregnat because people cry a lot and get sick!!!!!!!

I think what happened is that her boyfriend had to leave because her dad probably told him to and whatever,and he got in a car crash and died. her parents probably told her what happened so when she said "it's not true." like she doesn't believe he's really dead and she blames her dad for his death.

In my opinion I think the video/song is just expressing what it feels like when you lose someone you love so much. She doesn't know if he ever really knew how she felt. She never really told him, and now regrets it since he is gone. The fact of knowing that you lost your true love without ever telling them how you felt is enough to make you sick. I think her getting sick is just showing how much she loved him, and how badly she feels about losing him.
I think it means that she didnt get to tell him all the things she wanted to before he died in the wreck. She had so much to tell him because sometimes you feel that people dont get what youre saying rascal flatts hurts most videothrough your actions and can only be summed up in words and she didnt get to do that before he left.

i think the meaning of the song was to just show what its like to lose someone you really love but that love never knowing how you really felt. i think the girl was just sick because sometimes when people cry so hard it just makes them sick.
I've been wondering whats going on in the music video also and when i read the other answers to this question i think i figured it out. this is my opinion, or my guess. In the beginning of the video both parents are crying and the girl is hysterical. then when she sits down in the classroom the desk next to her is empty and the other girls are looking at her, so appearantly this isn't just a break-up, somebody is gone. at the end of the video she's kneeling in front of a white wooden cross on the side of the highway, and around here, where i'm from (southern idaho), a white wooden cross by the road marks the spot where there was an accident and someone died. I really don't think she's pregnant, this isn't like that. Her and her boyfriend were having a little conflict and one day he got in an accident and died. maybe she never got to tell him how much she loved him. In the scene where she's getting sick, its not because she's pregnant. When you lose someone you love, someone very close to you, its very common to get so far into shock and nervous that you throw up. So, when i see the video, it was that she had a conflict between her, her boyfriend, and her dad, and when her boyfriend died, she was blaming her dad because she needed to blame someone. But there wasn't any of her getting pregnant and the dad running the boy off, that doesn't fit with the words and mood of the song, especially with the songs that rascal flatts writes.
