Ok i have Bellsouth DSL internet service and its great but everytime I open Ares Galaxy (P2P Program) on my desktop computer it messes up my internet connection on my wireless laptop. I have a connection from the modem to the router - then the DSL cable to the Desktop PC and the laptop has a wireless connection. if ares is open and downloading files on the desktop pc it evetually messes up my connection on the laptop and if i open Internet explorer on the laptop it says the page cannot be displayed. Also the lights on tdownload ares galaxyhe router falsh way faster when ares is downloading files. why is this happening and is there anything i can do to fix this issue?
Okay, you have a couple of things going on here...first...the lights on your router go nuts when you are downloading because of the file data you are recieving. Your desktop has priority as it is directly connected to the DSL (which is not all that fast BTW)...your Access point loses connectivity during the download to the desktop because it is competing for bandwidth while the download is download ares galaxyin progress.
One thing you can do is hook the DSL to the Access Point and connect your Desktop into it...that will help with the bandwidth competition. One thing to consider though is to do your downloads at a time when you won't be using the internet. I do my downloads during the night as it is easier to stay connected and it is less crowded on the net at night....
As far as fixing the flashing lights...you cannot, that is an indicator of what your router is doing...nothing you can do about that.
